Early this morning the King underwent an operation to relieve a painful Achilles tendon in his left leg. It was a minor operation requiring neither general anesthesia nor hospitalization. During the operation, the traumatologist Ángel Villamor used Plasma Rich in Growth Factor (PRGF®-Endoret®), a technology developed and patented by BTI Biotechnology Institute, to promote the regeneration and repair of the damaged tissues, as well as to hasten the recovery of the King’s heel.
By applying PRGF®-Endoret® it is possible to simulate and accelerate (by up to 40%) the physiological mechanisms of repair triggered spontaneously in all damaged tissues, whether as a result of injury, surgical treatment, or disease.
