Doctors Eduardo Anitua and Mikel Sánchez have been awarded the "Premio Nacional a las Artes y las Ciencias Aplicadas al Deporte" for their contribution to promoting or disseminating physical and sporting activity uniquely throughout his professional life. Among the winners in the 2014 edition are the motorcyclist Marc Marquez, the badminton world champion Carolina Marin and Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana.
