The Álava Chamber of Commerce and Industry has honoured the companies BTI Biotechnology Institute, Ega Master and Envases Metalúrgicos de Álava for their great effort in internationalisation throughout the last financial year.

The award ceremony was held on 27 November 2013, hosted by Gregorio Rojo, the President of the Chamber, and was attended by over a hundred representatives of the most important companies in Álava.
This year, the Álava Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognised the work of the exportation companies from Álava in the area of innovation, market diversification and successfully internationalised family business.
Among the numerous candidates, the Álava Chamber of Commerce and Industry deemed BTI worthy of this award for its intense international activity that gives it a tractor effect on other companies in the emerging sector of biotechnology, and for its commitment to the development of this sector and the firm dedication that comes with the investment in research applied directly to new products and services that improve its international capacity and its wide-reaching network of offices abroad.
Regarding the other two companies with awards in the same category, Ega Master from Álava was recognised for its market diversification with an effective presence in more than 150 countries, its strength of innovation in its international promotional work and the effort to generate and maintain its brand image linked to the region. Envases Metalúrgicos Alaveses was acknowledged for its wide-reaching international history that has enabled it to reach its fourth generation as a family business, in its capacity for innovation in foreign markets and its investment in implementing production abroad that makes the company fully internationalised.
